The third hearing of the case took place last week on Monday, 8 Oct. 2007. 14/10/07: Israel’s “Housewife Tax” will harm the health care of 215,000 Arab women Unemployed married women of Israel will be forced to pay a monthly tax of 138 NIS if the government’s impending “Housewife Tax” is approved by the Knesset as part of the proposed new state budget law. July 31/7/07: Demonstration in Jerusalem to highlight victims of home demolitions in the Negev The Mossawa Center supports the Regional Council for the Unrecognized Villages (RCUV) in the Negev in their protest against massive injustices facing Bedouin communities in the Negev, beginning 16 July. June 20/6/07: Less than 6% of 57,253 governmental workers are Arab citizens Mossawa Center representatives attended a Knesset meeting to demand the Civil Service Commission respect government decisions and the law concerning appropriate representation of the Arab community in state employment. 13/6/07: Bedouin Infant Mortality Five Times Higher than Average in Israel According to the Mossawa Center’s analysis of the new state budget, only NIS 1 million allocated to infant health programs will be invested in increasing the awareness of infant mortality of Bedouin babies. February 22/2/07: Mossawa Center Demands Reforms in Israel's Police Investigations Department Mossawa calls for the dismissal of PID director Herzl Shbiro and State Prosecutor Eran Shendar, and demands that the PID be transformed into an all-civilian body.
